STAR has won the SECOND PRIZE in the Open International Competition for the House of Arts and Culture in Beirut, Lebanon.
The competition received 386 entries from all over the world. Beatriz Ramo will collect the prize in Beirut on April 14 at the Awards Ceremony.
The Jury of the International Architectural Competition was composed of eleven members.

-Magda Mostapha, Architect (Egypt), representative of the International Union of Architects (UIA) -Suha Özkan, Architect, Historian and Theorist (Turkey)
-Izaskun Chinchilla, Architect (Spain)
-Okwui Enwezor (Nigeria), Dean of Academic Affairs and Senior Vice President at San Francisco Art Institute (USA) Mr. Mozart Chahine (Deputy Member – Lebanon)
-László Földes architect (Deputy Member – Hungary)
-The Representative of the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Said Harith al Barashdi
-The Representative of the Orders of Engineers and Architects of Lebanon, Mr. Assem Salam
-The Representative of the Lebanese Company for the Development and Reconstruction of Beirut Central District (SOLIDERE), Mr. Angus Gavin
The project will be exhibited at the Forum de Beirut from March 24 until April 14, when the prize ceremony will be held. The exhibition will also display the 386 entries received from all around the world.
From website: The House of Arts and Culture is the first large cultural project to be built in Lebanon. Funded by a grant from the Sultanate of Oman to the Ministry of Culture, it will be located in the capital city of Beirut. The House will offer spaces for the performing and visual arts, for documentation and for training. An incubator for the development of creativity in the country, it will reinforce the role of Beirut as a central place in the international arts scene.
