Tutor at Stadslab Master Class in Ukraine

Beatriz Ramo was invited, together with landscape architect Jan Maas (Bureau B+B), by Marc Glaudemans to supervise the special 2010 Stadslab Professionals Master Class in Melitopol, Ukraine.
The programme will be developed in cooperation with the Kiev based organization ‘Democracy through Culture*’ and linked to the Intercultural Cities program of the Council of Europe.
The main topic is developing new ideas for the major city park; the 36ha Gorky Park. Melitopol has the ambition to develop the park from the perspective of intercultural cities. The city counts over 100 different nationalities. The park should be attractive to business partners and to at least part of the 40.000 tourists each day who now bypass the city on their way to the Crimean coast.

*Kiev-based organization that supports the development of cultural policy in Ukraine. Provides analytical information on various aspects of cultural policy making. Provides expert support for the Parliamentary Committee on Culture and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine. Participates in the EU project Creating Cultural Capital. Publishes Dialogue bulletin. Organizes seminars on cultural policy. Of interest to managers, cultural operators, culture policy makers.
